Week 3 - Days 4 and 5 (Satan, Judgement, Timing)

Satan
"Satan has operated through the generations primarily through human agents. You need not even wonder if the Devil was at work in and through Haman." - (page 72)

"... he (satan) cannot have what he wants. In reality, he cannot destroy even one of us who belongs to God through Christ Jesus. Satan is bereft of the power he wants most. Even if he succeeded in murder, only our earthly bodies could be harmed. In a metaphorical sense, we'd simply unzip them and walk free of their encumbrance and, in perfect health and vitality, step straight into the lives we were saved to live.
Gather this into your soul: When all is said and done, Satan can't win and you can't lose." - (page 73)

Beth writes:
"God always trumps satan."

"Never picture the two of them as equal but opposite authorities." - (page 73)

God trumps evil.

Judgement
"The last thing I have in mind is to encourage vindictiveness or discourage mercy. I believe to the marrow of my bones, however, that a soul has a health-need to know that justice will be served." - (page 79)

"Even if every Haman succeeded in his evil plan, he will not succeed in missing his court date. No one who refuses the payment of the cross will jump bail in heaven even if he or she got away with murder on earth." - (page 79)

Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. - Hebrews 4:13

God sees all. God knows all. God will have the final judgment and the final word.

"The same judge who sat on the bench the day the wrong was committed will be sitting on the bench the day of sentencing." - (page 79)

Timing
(The following quotes are from page 74.)

"Why today, the Jews of Persia must have wondered. Why must we receive this terrifying news today of all days - on our own Passover? ... To God, however, the timing was perfect."
"Oh, the satisfaction Haman must have felt in knowing he'd spoiled the precious, peculiar feast of the people he hated with such passion. He must have smacked his lips, salivating with the words, "What perfect timing!"
"Indeed, it is," God surely mused. That Passover night after the edict was posted in every province of the empire, the Jews were reminded who they were and what God had done for them."
This is because...
"That very evening at dusk, in accordance with God's command, the fathers were to recount to their families the story of Israel's deliverance from the mighty Egyptians. They told about the terrible bondage and oppression, about Pharaoh and his arrogant unwillingness to release them, and about the 10 dreadful plagues. They also rehearsed every detail about the miraculous redemption in the eats of their wives and children, but this time no doubt choking back the tears and trying not to alarm the little ones. Celebration turned to shock and horror, but for those who were willing, perhaps also to hope."
"He who delivered ... from a Pharaoh can deliver ... from any Haman."

"He who delivered you from drugs can deliver you from distraction. He who delivered you from bankruptcy can deliver you from bingeing. He who delivered you from infertility can deliver you from inconsistency. He who delivered you from the fire can deliver you from fear."
